Urinary problems
Prostate cancer and its treatments can cause a number of urinary problems including:
- retention (problems emptying the bladder)
- frequency (needing to pass urine more often)
- urgency (sudden urges to go to the toilet)
- incontinence (leaking of urine)
Prostate cancer itself may cause retention, frequency, urgency or pain on passing urine, which are usually caused by the tumour or prostate pressing on the urethra (the tube carrying urine from the bladder)
